Goa Rancang Kencono Yogyakarta
Kencengtravel - Rancang Kencono Goa is a
tourist attraction located in the District cave Playen, Gunugkidul regency,
Yogyakarta. Sightseeing is not so well known, but the actual cave is located in
a region with a well-known tourist destination that is Niagara Sri Gethuk.
History/Myth of Goa Kencono
Gunungkidul
is one area that is included in the Karst Mountains Sewu with unique scenery.
In addition to surface phenomena (eksokarst) shaped karst hills, in Gunungkidul
also contained under the surface phenomena (endokarst) in the form of
underground rivers, valleys, lakes, until luweng and caves. Because it is no
wonder if Gunungkidul has many caves scattered in the bowels of the earth. One
of the caves that can be entered anyone without special equipment is Cave
Rancang Kencono located in Bleberan Tourism Village, Gunung Kidul.
Based
on the book "Mosaic Yogyakarta Cultural Heritage" prepared by the
Institute for Preservation of Archaeological Yogyakarta, Cave Rancang Kencono
is parallel to the ancient cave Cave Braholo contained in District Rongkop, it
is based on the discovery of artifacts and bones are estimated to live in the
thousands of years ago . The cave, which has a spacious and airy room with
Klumpit tree that is estimated to have more than two centuries old and was once
used as a hideout and meeting Warriors Mataram when making plans to expel the
Dutch from the Sultanate Ngayogyakarta. Because it is used to rancang
strategies for the noble purpose of this cave called Cave Rancang Kencono.
To
enter the Nature Cave Rancang Kencono enough down the stone steps that have
been built since then. Klumpit tree whose height is beyond the roof of the cave
welcomed with stout. Large holes due weathered look in the trunk into an
elderly age marker. Cave Rancang Kencono have a large yard or space and can be
used to hold a meeting. Stalactites adorn the ceiling of the cave, many of
which are already dead so look no further water dripping. In the next room
there is a spacious room is small and cramped and dark. To enter this chamber
must pass through a small slit with a bow. In the narrow space, there are
paintings of red and white flag and words of encouragement addressed to the
fighters.
In
addition to the narrow niches and dark cave, on the other hand there is also a
hall that supposedly connects Cave Rancang Kencono with Niagara Sri Gethuk.
Upon entering the hall to walk squat even occasionally crawl because the
ceiling is very short. According to the manager, most of the hall had collapsed
so it can not be traced. As evening approached, Cave Rancang Kencono faint
moonlight illuminated the mystical and exotic look.
